Harry Quinn Schone

PhD Student
My background is history and philosophy of science, specifically medicine. Of particular interest to me are 'contested' illnesses, disease definition and the consequences of biomedicine's implicitly reductionist philosophy. I would love to hear from anyone who has ideas about how we should define disease, whether we can define disease at all and how we should conceptualise (with an eye to treatment) those conditions that fall on the blurry edges of our understanding and conviction.
Other topics also consume my time, and I am especially interested in the history of 'bizarre' outbreaks of potential mass hysteria such as the dancing plague, the laughing epidemic and other such occurrences.
Email me on harry.schone.10@ucl.ac.uk if you'd like to talk about these or any other things.
