Alfredo Vernazzani (1984) (Barbara-Wengeler-Stiftung scholarship holder): PhD candidate in philosophy at the Universität Bonn. I received my BA degree from the University of Naples «Federico II», and my MA from the Humboldt-Universität in Berlin (DAAD scholarship holder) with a thesis on visual perceptual completion and first-person approaches to consciousness. Further education: Summer School at the Center for Subjectivity Research, Copenhagen (2013); invited to ‘Die Zukunft Europas’ (The Future of Europe) conference on European issues and meeting with the Italian president Napolitano and the German Federal President Wulff, Villa Vigoni (2011). From October 2015 to March 2016 I will be a visiting PhD student at the University of Cambridge (UK), mentor Prof. Tim Crane. Publications on European Identity, Mechanisms, and Sensorimotor Theory. Research interests in mechanistic explanation in cognitive science, phenomenology, interfield integration, philosophy of mind and perception, consciousness studies, NCC, contents of consciousness, metaphysics of properties.
PhD Thesis on the problem of psychoneural isomorphism in visual perception.
